I am usually disturbed by the ads. Same with the first one. I avoided it because the ads were horrid and I am not a ghost-story sort of a guy. Then I watched it on DVD with friends and thought, ‘My goodness, this is fab!’ But all these promos do not help. The second one has the problem: shorts that put me totally off, so I don’t think Disney will get my money just yet.
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- ''Pirates of the Caribbean'' is looking more like ''Treasure Island.'' Already a record-shattering blockbuster, Johnny Depp's sequel ''Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'' dug up $62.2 million in its second weekend, raising its 10-day total to $258.2 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.
The movie has quickly become the year's top-grossing film, rocketing past ''X-Men: The Last Stand,'' which has taken in $232 million in eight weeks. The ''Pirates'' sequel has grossed an additional $125 million overseas.

Gotta be discretionary. Promos don't engender confidence, quite agree. And it is at least partly a preview of the last one - cheers, Mark
