Friday quiz: hangover music
Okay folks, what music do you play when you get up on Saturday morning deeply and sincerely hung over? You know, the stuff that shakes you (and everyone else in the house) awake and sets you back on track - or, as happened to me recently, convinces you you are still drunk and sends you back to bed again?
What will it be?
From me some suggestions:
The Modern Lovers: Roadrunner
Buffalo Tom: Sodajerk or Treehouse
Husker Du: Don't Wanna Know if you are Lonely
Ramones: Blitzkreig Bop
New Order: Blue Monday (original mix, thanks)

It's been so long (cough) since I had a hangover, it'd probably be ZZ Top (Legs), or U2 when they were still good. or anything by Talking Heads.
There was one we used ot play around our flat when we were students. Can't remember who it was but song began with sirens. Very disturbing for the other flatties played loud.
Got it: Ballroom Blitz by Sweet
I hate to protest when you go glam on us, Rob, but loud music and sirens are the last thing I need when I'm hungover.
Only something ambient might marginally ease the pain, in the sense of reminding me what an other-worldly sensation a 'good' hangover can be. Perhaps Sylvian/Czukay's 'Plight and Prominition' or Eno/Budd's 'The Pearl'. That and a bowl of fried rice, garlic and ginger, with two fried eggs and a bunch of chillies setting on top and a cup of Sencha Makato on the side. Recipe here: http://www.chrisbell.co.nz/025.html
But only my bed will really help - you've just got to sleep it off, dude.
Go back to France with the other pussies!
I'm more of a dance music fan so I'll go for 'Southern Sun' by Paul Oakenfold (if I want to ease myself into the day with some delicacy), or 'The Funk Hits the Fan' (or anything else by the Plump DJs if I really want to clear the cobwebs out).
black box
or new york new york by ol blue eyes. It really works at full volume with karaoke
