This year’s touring bands/singers include (their name is followed by the year of their debut record): the Beach Boys (1962), Joe Cocker (1968), Elton John (1968), Crosby Stills and Nash (1969), America (1971), Bryan Ferry (1972), Joan Armatrading (1972), the Police (1978) and the Cure (1978).
Next year kicks off with Sonic Youth (1984), Split Enz (1973) and Rod Stewart (1964)…

Necrophilia rules. We’ve also had Bob Dylan (1962) and John Cale (1966) but at least they’re making good new music and haven’t turned into their own karaoke tribute acts.
Could be worse. Could be Paul McCartney.
Or the Eagles. Jesus, have you heard by some accident any of their new album? Talk about a turkey for Christmas.

Heard a review of it on Nat Rad a couple of weeks ago...the reviewer was saying he'd expected to hate it, but didn't.
Quite like the single, the name's escaped me now. Not enough to buy it or anything, but still...
On other touring oufits: Bjork is ocming, I gather , in the new year. More recent. 1988. Only the other day.
